Parks in West Medford

City parks and recreation

The City of Medford Parks and Recreation department publishes the full list of city parks and facilities, the parks and recreation strategic plan, rules and special-event information. We link to it instead of repeating it, because it is the source that changes, and we have not confirmed which listed parks sit on which side of Interstate 5.

Bear Creek Greenway

The Bear Creek Greenway is a 20-mile biking and hiking path from Ashland to Central Point, passing through Talent, Phoenix and Medford. Segments were built in stages between 1973 and 1998, and the whole route was complete by 2011. Expect occasional root bumps and rough spots. Bear Creek passes through the middle of Medford, so the path is the easiest on-foot connection between the east and west sides.

Farther out

Crater Lake National Park is under an hour away according to Travel Medford, which also keeps guides to other outdoor adventures near the city.
